Do it end-to-end not side-to-side.

Just happened to put my 6 up on four jack stands this PM.  Here's how I
did it.  Jack up the left front as high as I want it, put a jack stand
under the left front frame AND the right side frame (even though it's
not quite as high as the left side).  Let the front down on both jack
stands, then I jack the right side up until it's level with the left
side.  Jack up the right rear side (because the muffler is in the way
and I can't get the jack under the left side), put two jack stands under
the frame right in front of the trailing arms.  Let it down and now jack
up the left side and even it out.  It helps to have a nice big jack like
the 3 ton I use cause it's real stable and it puts it up in the air
quickly without a lot of handle pumping.
