Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about entering less than
perfect cars. My '3A is painted a color that was never seen on any '3
before, various panels seem to have slightly different shades of said color,
paint's cracking on some panels, not on others, engine bay could use some
detailing, wing mirros are the wrong style and in the wrong place and the
sidescreens need help. I go to whatever shows I can get to and if folks with
nicer cars want to look down their noses at me and mine, so be it - I just
enjoy the shows and get some inspiration from the nice cars...not to mention
the nice TR Owners!
On the show field at last summer's VTR in Portland, the car next to mine was
(I think) the eventual Concours winner (the powder blue one, right?) - and
next to him was FT! I can't even come close to competing with cars like
those (needless to say, if you checked out the Participant's Choice awards)!
I look at it this way...when I enter a show , I can sit next to my car and
look at THEIRS - they sit next to their cars and look at MINE! HA! :^)
Did I mention that I now have OVERDRIVE?!
