I am 28 and am currently employed as a project manager for a New
Media firm in Cincinnati. I basically design corporate web sites and
CD-ROM training pieces. I have had MANY jobs in my short career, and my
degree is actually in A/V Production (I used to make commercials). I am
currently looking to get the heck out of Ohio (too many years in
the upper midwest ).
I am married for almost 2 years and my wife and I have been
together for almost 8 years, she strongly encourages me in everything I
do (she talked me into getting my second TR6). My heritage is Scottish
so by nature I play the bagpipes, my wife is a competing Highland
Dancer. With all the highland games in the summer, we are kept pretty
busy.
My first car was a '57 Chevy, that I bought in '86. I used it as a
daily driver off and on until about 2 years ago, at that point the body
was falling into disrepair faster than I could keep up, so I sold it. I
started looking for a car that I could keep up with, and stumbled upon
my first TR6. As the Chevy was a 210 with a big straight six, upon
opening the hood of the TR6 I felt right at home though, I could stand
in the engine compartment of the Chevy!). I picked the TR6 up for a
song and have never been happier (so now I have two TR6's). I now use
the '70 as a daily driver (though the body is terrible right now), and
plan to do an engine swap this winter, and rebuild the remaining engine
(the '73 looks good, but is about ready to throw a rod, the '70 looks
bad but runs fabulously). My wife will probably try to steal one so I
will have to eventually grant her wish for a GT6 (anyone know of a deal
on one <grin>).
My list of cars is relatively short, '57 Chevy 210, '79
Honda wagon, '86 Honda Elite 250 (scooter), '86 Volvo 240 Wagon, '77
Saab 99 (incredible rally/autocross car, not the Triumph engine
though), '91 Volvo 740 Wagon (awful car, I miss the 240, it had soul)
'73 TR6, '70 TR6.
Let me also say how jealous I am of you guys that bought a LBC
new, as I was only 10 years old in 1980, I would have had to be pretty
forward thinking as a lad to buy one new ;}
