Ask anyone from Wales or Scotland!!!!  English and British are not the same!

You can be British but not english i.e welsh/scottish! 

My welsh and scottish 'cousins' resent being called english.
Where I am it's not too sensible to advertise that you are an English 
student not unless you are up for it. These things get worse when the 
five nations tournament starts up (it has heeeellllppp!!)
