yes it is sad but true. I put in a cheap carpet set in my
GT6 and all the smell is lost, no more memories of my first high
school date in the car etc.etc. ...Has any one seen bottles of old
     british car smell?

Phil reaffirms me:

<<My God, I'm not the only one who is in love with the smell of my 6!! The
car was in storage for 13 years and when I got it home it smelled the same. I
took it apart, put it back together, and even with the new interior, it still
smells the same. Some kind of musty, warm smell that is not unpleasant at
all. >>

ONE WORD OF CAUTION to those of us whose only exhilaration remains olfactory
- I have heard that the Cheap carpet sets do not retain this most pleasant
aroma.
