Quaife is available for big TRs but hard to find in the US. I called all
over British Car magazine's vendor list a year ago looking for an LSD for
the autocross TR6. The only place that could/would get one and build the
pumpkin was British Parts Direct, who procured a Quaife from the UK and
sold it for a few hundred dollars less than Moss. Even they couldn't find
any gears other than the stock ratio. (Bentley manual says it takes a
spreader tool to open the case for diff. replacement, and other tools I
don't have to accurately set lash, etc.) Although I got the goods and am
happy with them, there have been unhappy experiences reported on the net
involving the proprietor. The diff certainly works for me: getting power to
the ground shaved seconds off the typical tight parking lot auto-x course.
I am also mystified why a Torsen is great but a similar Quaife is panned:
any racers out there that can speak to this?
