Mercedes hasn't started selling the Smart cars in the States officially, but
some enterprising regular citizens have brought a handful over for personal
use, and Roger Penske has worked out a distribution plan with M-B to begin
importing
Smart models within the next year, and Canada has had a regular sales channel
set up for about 18 months. I saw a few new ForTwo models while I was in
Montreal
for the holidays, but nothing like the numbers one sees in England and Holland.
And no, they're not really suited for soccer dads. We just added a new
Rabbit(Golf)
to the family fleet. I feel I can't raz the SUV folks when what I really would
like now is a new Shelby GT Mustang.
