According to the Ford Muscle-Parts Catalog, to install 351 heads on a
small block, use the 351 intake manifold gasket (gasket kit P/N
C9OZ-9433-A) to avoid a water leak around the water outlet orifice in
the 351 head. Discard the 260 gasket.
Install a 260 head gaskets. Discard the 351 head gaskets.
Use the following cylinder head bolts: C8OZ-6065-A and C8OZ-6065-B. Ten
(10) each required. According to Ford they measure 7/16-14 X 2.26" and
7/17-14 X 3.88" respectively. They are specially-designed UBS bolts
with washers integral with the hex head. The extra washer area under
the head prevents brinelling that may occur because the 351 has a 1/2
bolt hole and the 260 block is threaded for 7/16. This is obviously the
purist approach. I suspect that putting a flat washer under each bolt
would do just as well.
