Daniel,

For people like that I always advise them to go to Best Buy and get a
Chromebook.  Inexpensive, easy to use, long battery life, and access to all
the Google apps.  You can usually find one on sale for 200-300 dollars.  If
she doesn't like it you can return it in 15 days.  She would need a Google
(gmail) account, but that's easy and free to set up. I have never had
somebody not thank me for pointing them in that direction.
