I have a pair of infinity 6.5" speakers in my '79 Spit. I assume the interior
is the same. They are mounted on a carpet covered board that screws into the
recess in the footwells. The board is close to the shape of Wisconsin (on it's
side) and fills the recess beside the clutch pedal. I also have a frame with
two boxes to mount two 9' round speakers with two crossover/amp combinations on
the storage deck behind the seats. It raises the deck about 8". I have heavy
grates over the speakers so small items can be placed on top without damage.
Since I recently replaced my interior, all of this is out of the car. I can
take some pics tomorrow if you would like.
