Bonnet Alignment

I just picked up the bonnet for the spitsix from the body shop last.   They
did such a nice job I almost don't to put it back on the car :-)

I reattached the pivot bolts finger tight and lowered the bonnet to the
closed position, ( very carefully ).  As far as I can tell the rubber stops
are in the holders correctly but there seems like a significant gap of about
3/8" between the top and edge in front of the windshield.  What is the
correct gap size?  Is there a trick to do this correctly?
