I agree.  I too like the wwii planes (and I've got a mustang, so I guess 
I've got the best both the american and british had to offer ;-) ), but
we're a car club, not a plane club, and we aren't a military organization.
I'm not sure we should try to be, or even try to give the impression that
we might be trivializing the Real Thing.  I'm thinking the guys that
actually saw the business end of a ju-88 might not be as flip as we can
afford to be.  hence, 'club' not 'squadron', and no military or
quasi-military titles.  we aren't at war, and we shouldn't pretend like we
are, or want to be.
