Crank regrind. Bottom end engin rebuild.

2 weaks work! Mostly wating for parts and machineing.

Get the crank reground, the thrust washer faces touched. Ask them tell you
what oversize thrust washers and bearings you need. Get them to look at the
block as well it might require machineing.

You will at the same time kick yourself for not pulling the head and
checking the pistons and boars.

It cost me £210 (pounds) for new pistons regrind - rebour, timing chain.
Oil pump rebuild kit. And everything else needed.

Also take the time, a big tank, hot water and automatic washing powder and
scrub the oil stains from the block. Take the allen covers off the block
oil ways and clean these out. Everything must be competly clean of old oil
stains. Oil way must be completly clear. Do this when its back from the
shop. Rememer the oil ways in the crank.

Dont forget the new clutch plate.

You will need a new battery to turn your lovely and tight engin. Run in
for 500 miles with a deasent non slipery non advanced 20w50 oil for 500
miles. Oil chainge new filter and hold off hammering the car untill 2000
miles. 1000 and you can start to get the revs up.
