Perhaps the chap that USED to work for a local Midas
Shop would also agree. He "was" welding two ]2] 55
"clean" gallon steel barrels together when the residual
'gases' "combined" to form some sort of explosive 'gas'.
RIP.
Explosion was "felt" for a full block in all directions.

PS: Guess who has not welded barrels NOR gas tanks
.........for 25 - 30 years nor will ever be doing so again !?!
