If the light goes on at variable mileage, but always in the 12K 
miles range, my guess is that the computer is tabulating the time 
the engine is running or is proportionally factoring mileage and 
running time. The engine is still operating in traffic, even though 
there's no mileage being accumulated. If it's working in that 
fashion, it's a smart idea.
