The only difference the factory Parts Catalogue indicates in pre-engaged
starters is the change from 18G engines to 18V in 71, the change from
inertia to pre-engaged being in Nov 67. The diagrams for all pre-engaged
starters show the separate operate terminal for the white/red, if it didn't
have one I don't see how the solenoid would have been operated, and where
*did* the white/red go?
