You said you backed your car on. Did you have to lock the wheel or anything
else, or just let the front wheels turn freely?

Pulled my 72 on one for over 1000 miles, but that was over 15 years ago,
she goes in the moving van these days :-). Didn't drop the propshaft,
backed her on and she rode just fine until the rented truck broke down
in VA. Used her to call the rental company and then had the truck fixed
by the time they got there to take care of it. Fuel pump nuts were
backing off!
