Douglas,
  It's the head that determines the plug.  The threaded portion is either
approx 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch.  You can measure that with sufficient
accuracy by using a wire with a hook at the end. 
  Some time has passed since I installed new plugs, so I am not up to
date on current numbers.  I suspect, though, that if you identified your
TD as "early" or "late" the parts counterman could find the right plug
for you.
