Well, this may shed at least a LITTLE light...
our Morris Minor has the Datsun 210 tranny in it, and it has TRANSFORMED the
car. When properly modified via grinder and sander, you really can't tell if
it is stock or not.  The car cruises at 70+ on the highway now.  AND it has
all gears, including reverse, synchronized.  Be aware though, that there are
several different transmissions in the 210......get the good one! I paid 75
bucks for a good used one, but I understand that the supply is drying up.
