Dear Pip and all,
To lighten things after this fascinating debate, can I ask for guidance
as to what I should call my P type?
It's a bog standard unexotic vehicle:
It has its original chassis, maker's plates (PA 0743), axles & gearbox.
Replacement body (original pattern 2-seater), though.
The original PA engine was replaced some time between Feb 1935 and the
1950's by a double breather PB engine. I don't know whether this was
installed at day one by the factory (this did happen, I believe), or was
a later addition by one of the earlier owners.
So what should I call it?
A "P type" without a doubt. Certainly not a PB, and perhaps not a PA (
in any case, the P only became a PA when the PB was invented!). A PA/B
maybe?
Regards
Dick Morbey
