Tom,
The SCTA/BNI does not recognize any kart records within our class structure.
The 100cc class records you may be looking at will require a vehicle built
to specs as outlined within the rulebook.
I suggest you contact either the USFRA, www.saltflats.com,
usfra@slatflats.com or the ECTA, www.ecta-lsr.com, info@ecta-lsr.com. Both
of these organizations have run karts and have records for those classes.
The USFRA runs an event at the saltflats each September known as the World
of Speed. They have 130mph and 150mph events within the event which
accomadates vehicles which are not built to the SCTA/BNI rulebook.
The ECTA runs a 1 mile event at Maxon, GA. They have kart classes in their
rulebook.
You may also look at www.landracing.com as a starting place. This web site
has become "the place to go" for LSR questions and info.
Thanks for your question, good luck with your project.
Dan

Subject: 100cc Go Kart Land Speed Record Information
> I am currently interested in doing a LSR project for a 100cc lay down go
kart. The record was set in 1996 by Dave Bradley at 120+ MPH. As of now, I
am unable to locate any information on your site concerning this record, or
rules in which to follow. I would greatly appreciate any information
concerning this subject. Thank you.
