To pull, I recommend pulling the head first.
You'll lose a lot of weight to hoist and protect the carbs, as well as help
protect your engine bay from the swaying block.
The block is heavy enough without the head on.
I think I used some chain on a couple head studs for pulling.
On replacing the engine, I had an easier time with the bonnet latch bracket
removed from the firewall, so take it off now.
After block removal, climb in and clean up the engine bay and paint it.
Also, take some pictures before removal, mark bonnet position on hinges somehow
to get it back in position exactly as it was before (if you have a nice paint
job, this is important, an out of position bonnet can rub hard against the
shroud while you are trying to get it back on and chip paint badly), replace
wire harness in engine bay.

Any other hints from those who have been there, done that would be
appreciated, I do have and have read the factory manual.
