Seems to me the last time I tried that (which was MANY years ago), the
problem was that the engine would twist in the motor mounts.

Thinking about it now, would it be possible to put a piece of 2x2 or 2x4
between the cylinder head and the inner fender to keep the engine from
moving so much?

car) while you torque the crank bolt (143ft-lb)?
