So close, yet so far. Is there a trick to getting the engine "back" into my
Roadster!?! I didn't have a problem getting it out. I have a standard '68
2000 and I can't seem to get the exhaust manifold to clear the frame mounting
bracket on the drivers side. The clutch housing just doesn't want to clear the
transmission input shart. Does then engine have to be tilted up in front and
go in straight or should I try to drop it in more to the passenger side and
rotate it onto the input shart? (I have the transmission on a jack already and
have tilted it up to the top of the transmission tunnel.)

Lastly, does anybody think I need to remove the exhaust manifold to do this, or
will it go in with just some finesse? Or - like the manual shows, do I really
need to remove the transmission, mount them together and then put it back in
the chassis. This seems like a lot of extra work to do it that way, and I
can't imagine they throught you should have to do this to replace a clutch.

Thanks,
Perry
