Hey Roman,
Glad it turned out so well for you, reminded me of a little brush I had with
the authorities many years ago. I had driven my brother's 2000(Eric) from
Missouri to Colorado after putting the engine back together, and wanted to
get some training in at the higher altitude. (Cross country & track) Did I
mention that my brother was stationed at Peterson Air Force Base. Did a
little warm up run with my younger brother (Paul) near nightfall and stopped
at the flag border that separated us from the still aircraft on the flight
line. Did some stretching and were about to take off again when a military
vehicle came to a screeching halt and 2 MP's jumped out with their M-16's
levelled at our bellies. Dressed in running shoes, socks and shorts, no
I.D., colorblind, didn't catch the dull red paint before the flightline
(near nightfall) they hauled our butts in and there the duty sergeant
realized we we not likely Russian spies and didn't put us in the holding
tank with all the drunk rowdies, I don't know if Eric is laughing at that
one yet but I sure do, thanks for bringing that memory back!
