I have a dilemma involving a purchase from a listmember and am asking for
advice/solutions. I apologize in advance for going public with this
problem, but I feel it is important as the items in question were first
advertised to this list.

I recently agreed to buy a pair of Empi Wheels from Lee Ehinger. The price
was agreed upon by both of us. Shortly after this, I received an email
stating that he got higher offers on the wheels (not much higher, we're
talking $50 here) and if I still wanted them, I would have to beat the other
offers. No maoney was exchanged.

I maintain that once a price is agreed upon, the deal is closed and the
price shouldn't be raised. If you want the highest bid, then you should use
eBay.

A side note: Before getting the email about the price increase, I commited
to buy another pair of Empi wheels to complete the set. If someone on the
list has already bought Lee's pair, please contact me if you are interested
in this pair as they do me no good.
