I haven't had mine that long but it came w/ a plate identifying the motor as
150HP. The plate VIN # matched the engine block # and the engine had the
deep-fined oil pan and aluminum/fin covered rear brake drums. The only
thing I did not note until later is that the body had a number stamped in it
on the front driver's side (near the front corner and facing straight up).
I don't know if it has any significance. Forgot to write the number down.
Apparently, my car originated in central Canada in either the province of
Saskatchewan or Manitoba. I don't believe there is any indication of smog
related items on the engine. Larry in Western Canada.

Uh...... as I opened my original email. It isnt that I dont believe anyone
about the Solex option "stuff". And certainly I cant be called a nit
picker.
Especially since I have done things to my 67.5 that would make it
unoriginal. Red interior...? Please!
But I understand how my original email may have been taken incorrectly so I
will redo it to make it sound more appropriate.
Is there a way to distinguish which cars were original Solex cars? I know
that in 1967 is was a dealer option. In 1968-70 the carbs were not options
but rather a parts counter purchase due to emission controls.
I was wondering...... ;>) if there is a way to tell which cars were the
original Solex cars. Is the ID tag marked 150hp? How about you Canadian
folks...? Your cars didnt come with smog equipment. Did it? Maybe in
Canada 1968-70 cars were also dealer options. Were they?
Thanks you,
