wiper problem

Technical help needed:

I replaced my dash and engine compartment wiring harnesses on my 1970 1600.
Before doing so, my wipers worked fine but since the new wiring went in, my
wipers are acting funny.  Everything else in the car functions perfectly.

When turned on (either speed) they function fine, but when I turn them off,
they stop right where they are rather than returning to their parked
location.

Any ideas what might be causing this?
