Mike,

As a founding member of SoCalROC, I can tell you that you are not in any
danger of legal action until you actually get organization status. There is
no NOWROC as far as the legal system is concerned. You are just a bunch of
people getting together to drive your cars.

If someone got into an accident with a member on the run, the legal issue
would be between the two parties involved. NOWROC is not sponsoring the
event legally. Unless you actually incoporate and solicit membership dues
and such, you cannot be held liable for an incident on a public highway.
When you do incorporate, talk to your lawyer about liablility insurance and
build the premium costs into your dues.

Anyone wishing to join would have to sign a release in order to join.

SoCalROC has not made any plans to incorporate. Every time we have a run,
people refer to me as the "President" of the club. Something I discourage. I
just want to get together with my buds and go for a drive. Nowroc may want
to incorporate and that is fine, just make sure that the liablility
insurance is bought when you do.

FWIW

Andrew Murphy
Non-president of SoCalROC
