John, I ordered a top from JC Whitney last year(70 1600).
It didn,t fit right , on installation you have to put all the twities
and posts on youself because all cars are a little different on fit.
Also the cable rivets to the clips, which clip on the clips
inside(spring cable in the sides)thereby indexing the sides of the top.
if I hooked up the leftside, the right side was 1 1/2 inch to short, or
vice versa. maybe I got an early model top, maybe the right one it
didn't fit.
JCW dopships or sells Crown tops made in Columbus Ohio, so I called
crown tops thinking maybe I could get some advise on making it fit.
Didn't want to sendit back if I could make it work. The secretary told
me they" didn't deal with the public". So I boxed it up and shipped it
back to JCW for a refund, Which they promtly sent. Still don't have
a top, but when I do orderone it will be from Les, Stan, Ross, Rallye,
Topless Datsun , Mike Baker, ETC ETC. someone who knows, and cares
about Roadsters.
