finished with his sunbeam tiger and i am jealous. I have a line on a 1600 for

baby(2000) so i am going to do it on a 1600. what would be the best engine for
the car, a turbo 6 or a 302 (same as what is in his tiger). does any one know
if either engine will fit. what can i do for a trany combo? what about a rear
end do I need to chop a ford 9'.last but not least what can I do about the
soft suspension? any suggestions would be appreciated. >>

Well, you could pretty much throw whatever you want in there, but I suggest
sticking with a japanese engine. It'd be nice to keep it in the family with a
modern Nissan engine also. If you really want power to play, you can go with a
VG30 V6 or an SR20 inline-4. If you're interested in a turbocharged SR20DET,
my friend has a hold on one right now for 1800, minus the wiring harness and
transistor pack/igniter. But otherwise, it's complete with tranny and coil
packs etc. Figure in an air filter, larger turbo (gonna have to get a new exh
manifold to clear the steering column too), downpipe with exhaust, ECU
reprogram, and you can probably squeeze about 330-350hp outta the stock bottom
end.
It all does come down to how much $$ you want to spend for however much hp you
want. The SR can pump out 700+hp if you're willing to drop the ca$h into it.
:)

Van - soon to be SR20 roadster...hopefully!
