If you are building a race engine yes.  See Fred's post.  

For street, go polish a bumper instead.

Remember, during street use, even agressive driving, the SU damper piston
is down or mid position somewhere most all of the time (a variable venturi 
design which helps give good throttle response)  i.e the intake path is
restricted significantly by design.  Unless your engine is going to spend 
80-100% of the time over 5000 rpms you are just spinning your die grinder...
