>From Antony Hayes (BRG):

I have been asked by David (Hunt) to distribute the following
announcement
regarding the auction of equipment from the wind tunnel.

He has asked if you would be so kind as to post it on your internet
site,
and to forward it to any Lotus fans you may know of.

Many thanks from David, Team Lotus and me for your help.

Best regards from Britain.

TEAM LOTUS FORMULA 1 RACE AND SHOW CARS AND MEMORABILIA TO GO UNDER THE
HAMMER

Auctioned by Weatherall Green & Smith

A Lotus type 107 Formula I (F1) car, as raced by defending World
Champion
Mika Hakkinen, and an original painting of double World Champion and
Indianapolis winner, Emerson Fittipaldi, are just two of the highlights
to
go under the hammer on Saturday 24th April 1999 at 12.00 noon at Unit D,

Philip Ford Way, Wymondham, Norfolk.

Under the instructions of Team Lotus, Weatherall Green & Smith will
auction
off a number of Formula 1 race and show cars, pit equipment, spares and
memorabilia. The sale not only includes Mika Hakkinen's car, which is
the
first Hakkinen Fl car ever to come onto the open market but also a 1993
Lotus 107B Formula 1 car as raced by Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert,
The
Lotus 107B is in excellent condition with full history and spares
package.

Other Team Lotus lots for auction include a Volvo FL6 race car
transporter,
Lotus Formula 1 car spares, grid materials, pit lane equipment, racing
memorabilia and office and workshop equipment.

Weatherall Green & Smith partner Ronan Stack, who valued the lots,
commented: "This Sale is a unique event and we anticipate that not only
will collectors be interested in attending but also participants in
single
seater and historic racing series. The sale includes Formula 1 race cars

and engines, gearboxes, flight boxes, batteries, tools, tyre blankets
through to a forklift truck in the Team Lotus livery.

David Hunt, managing director of Team Lotus, added. "Poised for its
return
to modern day Formula 1, Team Lotus sadly has no future use for assets
that
served it at the start of the decade. It is best, therefore, that they
be
offered to collectors and, more importantly, Team Lotus' loyal fans
around
the world, many of whom frequently express a desire to own a physical
part
of the Team Lotus legend".

Weatherall Green & Smith has experience of valuing and selling unusual
lots
of this type including cars and equipment from other Formula 1 racing
teams.
