I have a hard time believing the Landlord could have sold cars at
auction that were not his cars, he rented the building and maybe at
eviction time he owned everything in the shop that was owned by the
renter but he would not have owned the cars themselves, just the
tools, machinery, equipt. etc. that belonged to the shop renter. If
a friend stores his TV in my house and I get evicted, yes the
Landlord can sell that TV at auction but only after he does some due
diligence to determine it was my TV, that due diligence is easy to
get around but a car is not a TV, a car has a title.
But if it is done, then its done...
The lesson here that I learned is visit your car once in a while
when it is in a shop especially if the shop is close by, you maybe
could have learned his fate and prevented your car from being sold.
