Scott,
I really like the muffler that Midas put on for me -- it is the same as
a 69 Camaro crossflow and they hung it high (but I would suggest that
while they are doing it you stay well behind the yellow line in case the
car falls off the lift) (sarcasm liberally used in this message). The
thing that Tanner suggests for the rear leafs is to simply add one. He
says that all you need to do is go to a junk yard and buy one that is
2.5 inches wide and put it in. He says to make the added spring the
second longest -- I measured and I think it was around 45.5 inches or
so. He even told me that he just uses a torch to cut them to size! I
don't know about that because, in my opinion, it may be the even and
properly distributed temper in the springs that make them work. The
coil springs on the front are a different story and, unless you work at
a front end shop, they are too dangerous to consider changing (in fact,
you could have been injured already -- I know that I am defective). On
the other hand, Tanner and Hoffman both sell coils and Tanner has the
best price by far. I did have a mechanic do mine because I didn't want
to hassle with renting the tools and doing it in the street (but if I
had a garage, look out). As to selling the cars -- I haven't noticed
any increase. Now, can't we all get along? And don't take the brown
acid. Take care. Kim
