If you happen to have an OBD-II diagnostic tool, you should be able to
monitor for knock retard/knock sensor counts to see if the PCM is
retarding timing or not with the 91, I think.  That should help take out a
lot of guessing.  I'm going to Autotap some WOT runs on my Corvette soon
to see if it's retarding, just for curiosity's sake.  The owner's manual
only calls for 91, but it was nice to have that buffer in the past.  Oh
well. :|
