I also have a 2000 Celica GTS. It is TERRIBLE on the autocross course.
Turn-in is "moderate". Power band STINKS. It is also an open dif, and
the power band hits so abruptly -- when it finally does -- that the car
will simply understeer off-course if you're turning! Talk about
wheelspin on corner exit! It won't be competitive in GS unless the
course is a drag strip.. and ONLY a drag strip. If you have moderate
speed corners, you're screwed. 

It's for sale if anyone thinks differently! <G> Not a bad street car,
OK as a 'ricer', but NOT an autocrosser.

By the way, if anyone tells you that a Mini handles like a go kart,
they've not driven a REAL go kart!
