In this particular case, I doubt it.  That section of the course looked
wickedly fast from the map, and drove as expected.  It was, essentially,
a downhill straightaway across most of the alotted area for South course.
 I cannot imagine that someone who was deemed experienced/talented enough
to be chosen to design the course didn't see that section as really,
really fast.
