I recently got my pilot's license, and I remember from my training that you
are not allowed to do aerobatic flight over populated areas.  In addition,
you must be at least 3000 feet above the ground to do aerobatics.
(Airshows obtain special waivers from the FAA, and crowds are controlled)
So one difference is that this guy was flying illegally and endangering
other people's lives, whereas Adam Petty was not.
