you can buy a 1.4x or 2x converter for your lens, I think they sell them
in yashica mounts.
Back when I used to shoot sports photography for the college paper, I
used to use a 1.4x converter
on a 80-200 mm f/2.8 lens to get close to a 300mm lens for Big Ten
Football games.
you will lose 1-2 f/stops of exposure though. With 100 speed film and
say a 1/500th of a second shutter speed,
and if your maximum aperture on your 70-210 is f/4 (most of them are,
unless they are really expensive), you will
have to shoot at an equivalant of 5.6 or 8. you might not be able to do
it unless it is sunny out.
you can always switch to 200 or 400 film so you get the correct
exposure.
