I love my neon... but here's the scoop. I have a '99 4 door Neon Sport
5-speed that I picked up in October of 98... In November it went to the
dealership for the first time because it threw the power steering belt.
Two weeks later it was in again to get the new power steering pump
tensioned and to replace a heat shield that was rattling and have the
passenger side window re-aligned because it was leaking. I have also since
replaced my front motor mount (at less than 7k miles) because it was torn.

My girlfriend has a 97 base 4 door neon 5 speed with 47k miles. As we
speak her car is at the dealership getting a brand new shortblock...
Luckily Chrysler is paying for it even though her warranty has run out..

Through all the problems, I'm in the process of buying another and would
buy a third if I had the opportunity.
