Hello all,

As a racer of an Alpine in Australia I'm very interested in John Boyd's plea
for help re 14 inch wheels.

Here, as everywhere else in the world, our scourge is not the Porsches /
TVR's / Alfas / Healeys / Morgans / Ginettas / Datsun 2000's & 240's / Jags
/ Fiats / etc but the hordes of never historically competitive but now weber
sprouting (Alpines can't in Australia), carbon fibre pushrodded, over
square, detroit locker wearing, (bloody) MGB's that have 14 inch wheels, but
worse still are about to be allowed 15 inch wheels because Yokohama is about
to stop production of 14 inch R series tyres!

Us Antipodean Alpiners need you to find this info to keep these Johnny Come
Lately's at bay.

 HELP!! Please.

If we can get 14 inch wheels we can stop looking for J type overdrives or
3.77 diffs, we can match them in a straight line at less than 8000 revs, &
we can get 15'' wheels (with 4.1 diffs!). We really need that top end boogy.

A bottle of REALLY good Aussie red wine to the winner of this competition,
plus tickets to one of our big Historic race meetings (about
350competitors). John will tell you that the Kiwis make great white wine -
& he's right. So maybe its worth an Anzac 2 pack!

Cheers

Bob Boulter
