I've got a very noisy differential. When driving approx 30 mph the noise
starts to get irritating, when driving on the high way, it's almost
unbearable. Before replacing the entire differential unit, I' d like to
try some more inexpensive solutions. Is it possible to add some
(additional) stuff (fluids) to the differential oil that wil lubricate
everything some more? Or is it just bad luck? and replacing is the only
solution.
The U-joints are all bolted firmly together.
By the way, is it possible that the noise has got anything to do with a
broken diff mounting bracket? the one right front is broken and has to
be repaired.
