Do yourself a solid and get a new (not refurbished) Hi-Torque starter. As
long as you're going through the agony of removing the old unit, you might
as well replace it with something that will crank forever during your cold
spring start-up. Ted at TSI has them for a couple hundred bucks. These are
plug-and-play units. Might want to replace the solenoid while you're at it
(Ted has these as well).
