[TR] TR3A SU H6 Carb Rebuild Question

8 flats sounds about right for a starting point.
I think that is how I started out on my TR4A.
I honestly haven't messed with them for over 2 years and the car runs pretty well. I drove from Cincinnati to the 2018 Kas Kastner race this summer without a problem. I will say though that the temperature has to be above 70 degrees or so . As the temp gets lower, the engine will stumble slightly when cold. I tried a color tune glass spark plug for the initial tune but I think just reading the plugs is the long term tuning solution.

Jim,

I’ve heard 8 flats from full tight. I think one and a half turns (rather than flats) would be about 8 flats.
