[TR] My 59 Tr3 History?

Cars were often registered using the year when they were sold. A future
owner in another state might later get it titled using year of
manufacture. That is exactly what happened to my TR4 which was registered
in Hawaii in (and as a) 1965 but for specific reasons I wanted it
registered as a 64 when I got it to Arizona. The MVD was okay with that
when I offered proof it was built in 1964.

Yes, a 1963 sale of a 1959 build is an extreme case but not unheard of.

I have not heard of Completely Knocked Down cars going to the US (usually
have CKD in the commission number I believe)..
