[TR] Pilot bush TR3A

Just got it in there. I sanded down lightly around the outside and very gently tapped in with my small rubber mallet. 45 minutes in the freezer didn’t shrink it enough, but the sanding with 120 grit then fine worked! Hurray. Thanks to all for the advice. One step closer to getting the new clutch and rebuilt od tranny box installed.

Yes. The flywheel is off and the bush is bigger than the flywheel opening so I believe you are correct. It holds it in there. Jim

Hi, Jim. I've had success putting the bush in the freezer for half hour, then installing after heating the flywheel with a little propane flame.
Good luck!

My new pilot bush for crank does not fit in easily. I remember doing this in my TR6 motor and no issues. Is there a technique to use to get bush in without damaging opening or bush?
Thanks
