[TR] Knocking noise

Sounds like a bearing issue. With the clutch engaged the input and lay shafts are rotating, neutral means that the output shaft isn't connected. My first thought is a broken keeper on the layshaft.

Subject: [TR] Knocking noise

There's a knocking noise coming from my Tranny area when that cars idling in neutral.
1. It's a TR4 tranny wth an overdrive unit.
2. The noise take a few seconds to appear.
3. When I fully depress the clutch it goes away.
4. When I partially depress the clutch it's still there.
5. The spring holds the clutch fork off the plate.

I'm not sure if it was there when I drove it down the driveway.
I think it went away but reappeared when I coasted.

I hate removing the tranny from the TR4, I'm quiet adept at it but it's painful, any ideas on what it could be?

Jim and the 62 TR4.
