[TR] Sears to Sell the Iconic Craftsman Brand after 90 Years

Hard to say. Could be very good if they are going to build on the brand name with quality stuff.

I still have my Dad's Craftsman drill, sander and sabre saw. All metal construction with just a black plastic switch for each. Add oil occasionally and go. Can't beat the old stuff. I have full sets of the hand tools and have only had to replace one ratchet in decades. I'd planned to buy my sons large toolkits for high school graduation. I really hope they don't just drive the brand into the ground. It would be really sad to see it go away. But maybe I'm just getting old and nostalgic.

I've always used Craftsman tools since since my uncle started helping me work on my Spitfire back in the '60s. After reading the above, I feel a bit better due to these details:
> 1) This might help Sears survive
> 2) Sears will continue to sell Craftsman. After 15 years Sears will start paying Stanley Black & Decker a percentage of Craftsman sales.

> 7)Stanley will develop and build Craftsman products to sell outside of Sears. Not sure if this is good or bad. Hope they improve quality back to former Craftsman standards.
