It could be an earlier Triumph Vanguard from something like a Triumph 1800 or 2000 or RazorEdge/Renoun. I have an engine from a RazorEdge that fits that description. I'll have to take a look at the numbers on the casting. The ports are all inline and round and the casting looks closer to a TR2 low port.

Subject: What the HEAD is it?
Hi List!
A friend has a head & was wondering if ANYONE can give me info. to: What
type of head he has?
The info. he has given me is:
1- It's the same length & width of a 4 cylinder engine (like a TR3/4)
2- It has ALL ports ROUND (NOT oval/rectangle like the TR4/A head)
3- All round ports are IN Line (NOT like a 'High port' TR4/A head)
4- All ports SEAM small (maybe like a (spitfire?)
5- NUMBERS: MC 20612 &
6- 300 440 found under the front of the engine BELOW were the thermosate
would go in the head)
